Btw always reboot after a unistall and reinstall same goes for updates even of the program requests it or not. I have installed 6.1.12.1 which is not technically for Windows 8, but it seems to be working OK. Otherwise no clue. It will clear up any software conflicts and allow you to start fresh.First, please ensure you backup your files.
